Spring has sprung and that can only mean one thing: new recipes. Spring gives us vibrant colors, beautiful flavors, and lots of creativity when making new meals. For home chefs, Sawaas ziplock
bags, a black-owned company, offers a great tool to use when preparing meals as they help to minimize our time in the kitchen and maximize our time with family.
Here are three recipes and three ways that you can use Sawaas ziplock bags in the kitchen:
Marinate Different Meats Overnight
Maple Mustard Salmon: Combine olive oil, Dijon mustard, maple syrup (or local honey), salt, and pepper into a Sawaas ziplock bag. Drop your salmon of choice in and marinate overnight.
Infuse Your Cheeses
Spinach Infused Ricotta: In a small blender, puree spinach, salt, pepper, and minced garlic. If it’s not smooth, add a dollop of the ricotta cheese to smooth it out. Then, combine the puree with the rest of the ricotta. Store in a Sawaas ziplock bag and use on pizza, lasagna, or crackers.
Make Pipping Bags
Lemon Buttercream: In a mixing bowl, whip together butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream or milk, lemon extract, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Once fluffy, place into a Sawaas ziplock bag and use as a pipping tool for baked goods.
Sawaas ziplock bags are so universal and convenient. It is a lifesaver when meal prepping for the family and makes the clean-up much easier.
